Short Bio:
Vincent Robert is senior researcher, medical entomologist.
His main domains of expertise are mosquitoes, anophelines and malaria transmission and culicines vectors of arbovirus. With in mind, the double concern of understanding the biology and decreasing the burden of vector-borne diseases in terms of public health.
He had about 25 years of experience in medical entomology in tropical area (Tropical Africa, Madagascar, Islands of the SW Indian Ocean). Since the last 12 years he mainly works in Euro-Mediterranean area.
He belonged to the team that first discovered the huge impact of insecticide impregnated bednet in reducing malaria transmission.
He also has a strong experience in teaching (Institut Pasteur, Paris) and publishing articles (>250 articles and book chapters) and books (3).
He is the key-expert of the medical entomology network MediLabSecure (2015-2021). He was a member of the mosquito group of the network VectorNet (2014-2018).
